NSSR’s annual convening takes place each fall and provides participants with two days of interaction, fostering partnerships and plans for the development of the LGBTQ safe schools movement for the next year.
Past convening activities have included discussions of new research about school climate for LGBT youth and families, a training for addressing LGBTQ issues through an anti-racism framework, meeting with Sen. Al Franken about the federal Student Non-Discrimination Act and the sharing of new resources and successful organizing strategies.
The 2011 convening was November 16 - 18 in Nashville, TN.
The 2012 convening has yet to be determined, but details and an application for your organization will be posted here in early 2012. Please contact us for more information.
